The city of Ashmore has been feeling wrong at the edges for weeks. And the visiting scholar who has installed himself in the seminar room down the hall knows her name before she has introduced herself.

His name is Daimon. He is three hundred years old, a Maren clan enforcer, and one of only ten vampires alive who can walk in direct sunlight. He has been watching her from the street below for forty minutes. He will tell her why — when she is ready.

What Maxine carries in her blood has drawn the attention of the Draveth, a faction that abandoned the Accord’s peace in 1896 and has been building toward something ever since. The council’s answer is a safe house, a fifteen-day window, and the man standing between her and everything that is coming.

The Accord that governs Ashmore was built on one principle. Not law. Not treaty. Consent — freely given, every time, by the person giving it.

Fifteen days is long enough for a great many things to become something else entirely.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Bloodright is a dark romantasy told in dual point of view. It is a slow burn. It takes consent seriously as a framework, not a plot device. It is set in Ashmore, a fictional British university city where vampires and humans have coexisted under a fragile political agreement for over a century — and where that agreement is beginning to crack.

If you read romantasy for the tension, the atmosphere, and the moment two people finally stop pretending — this book is for you.

Bloodright is Book One of the Bloodright Series. Book Two, Bloodline, is in development.

WHAT READERS ARE SAYING

This section will be updated when the book releases. Beckett and science fiction as Kayden Beckett. I live in Sumter, South Carolina.

I have been writing since I was sixteen. At forty, Bloodright is the first story I finished. I am albino, legally blind, and have limited use of my left arm following a stroke at birth. I intend to keep going.

My science fiction owes an honest debt to James S.A. Corey and The Expanse — the book that showed me what the genre could do when it took its characters seriously.

Read Full Bio Here

COMING SOON

Bloodright is currently in final preparation for publication.
